News: EARLY REGISTRATION FOR 2007 CASE CONFERENCE IS OPEN (29.09.2006)


CASE and CASE Ukraine organize jointly 2007 CASE International Conference entitled ‘Winds of Change: The Impact of Globalization on Europe and Asia.’ The conference will be held in Kiev (Ukraine) on March 23-24, 2007. The conference will discuss the impact of globalization on the Eurasian continent and the various development models represented by the "old" and "new" EU members states (including the EU candidates), CIS countries, and the countries of South East and South Asia and the Middle East. Discussions will be on themes such as differences in growth performance, the nature of global imbalances, changing directions of goods, capital and aid flows, the challenges of migration and emerging regional integration models. »»


News: CASE BIDS FAREWELL TO ANATOL GUDIM (18.07.2006)


Dr. Anatol Gudim, Executive Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and Reforms (CISR, Moldova), died on 9 July, 2006. He was an outstanding economist - an expert in macroeconomics and regional economics. From 1994 to 1997 Dr. Gudim held the post of Vice-minister of Economy of Moldova, and from 1997 to 1999 he worked for the United Nations Development Programme and the World Bank. »»


News: CONSORTIUM LED BY CASE HAS STARTED THE FP6 EUROPEAN RESEARCH PROJECT ON THE EU EASTERN NEIGHBOURHOOD (26.06.2006)


The consortium led by CASE won the Specific Targeted Research Project (STREP), financed under the European community Sixth Framework Program, Priority 7 “Citizens and Governance in a Knowledge-Based Society”. The project topic is EU Eastern Neighbourhood – Economic Potential and Future Development (ENEPO). The main purpose of this project is to examine the potential of the European Neighbourhood Policy to upgrade the relations between the enlarged EU and CIS countries in the spheres of trade, investment, labour movement, technical cooperation, and to speed up economic and governance reforms in NIS, with special attention given to mutual interdependence between these areas. »»


News: NATIONAL FORUM ON FISCAL DECENTRALIZATION (15.03.2006)


On Thursday and Friday, 9-10 March 2006, at the Palace of Republic was unfolded the National Forum “Fiscal Decentralization: challenges for the Republic of Moldova”, joining 150 representatives of Parliament, Government, Ministry of Finance and other ministries and state institutions, international organizations, 1st and 2nd level local public governmental authorities, academic mediums, nongovernmental authorities, mass media. »»


News: TENDENCES AND PERSPECTIVES OF THE TRADE LIBERALIZATION WITH EU - PUBLICATION IN THE ECONOMIC JOURNAL (21.02.2006)


An article on tendences and perspectives of the trade liberalization with EU was published in the economic journal “B&F-Profit” (in Romanian and Russian languages). It is based on Feasibility Study on the impact of a Free Trade Area between Moldova and the EU. The study was conducted by a group of local independent experts within the “Capacity building for further trade liberalisation between Moldova and the EU” project funded by the British Embassy Chisinau.»»


Seminars and Conferences: A FEASIBILITY STUDY ON THE IMPACT OF A FREE TRADE AREA BETWEEN MOLDOVA AND THE EUROPEAN UNION WAS PRESENTED (17.01.2006)


The Foundation for Social and Economic Investigations CASE-Moldova presented a Feasibility Study on the impact of a Free Trade Area between Moldova and the EU and put forward a set of recommendations to the Moldovan Government on this matter.
